Name: SAROD The sarod has a small, deep body which is covered with parchment. Over the finger-board is a steel plate. A small metal bowl is screwed on the fingerboard. The strings are plucked with a piece of wood. As in the sitar, there is a pair of drone strings and a set of thin wires. (Amrita Kumar, 1993)
