Hamdolok is described as traditional theatre found in Johor, originating from the Middle East. It is performed during weddings and festivals, and includes the use of other Malay dance forms, especially the zapin and inang. Instruments used include the gambus, tambourine, maracas and conga drums. (Asmad 1990).
